Congress Hall, Independence National Historical Park,

 Philadelphia, PA

This is Congress Hall. Formerly a County Court House, the

building served as the first home to Congress of the new United States.

The House of Representatives met on the first floor hence the

common nickname of "the Lower House." The United States Senate met

on the second floor, hence it's nickname as "the Upper House".
